Conversation With Craig – Week 5
In an effort to give voters full and complete access to his ideas for making California a better state, Assembly District Five Candidate Craig DeLuz will be reaching out to voters via his new internet radio show “Conversation with Craig”.
This live talk show will air once a week, with each episode covering a specific topic. Listeners will be given the opportunity to hear Craig’s take on key issues facing our state and even call in to ask him questions on how he plans to address them.

This week, California Democrats proposed almost $5 billion in new taxes, which if approved will most assuredly prolong the current economic downturn. The only way to turn this fiscal crisis around is to revive the economy and bring jobs back to California.

Week 3- Education: California’s Race to the Bottom…
As another academic year comes to an end, California policy makers are preparing to compete for the second round of federal “Race To The Top” funding. The question before them is whether or not they are serious about reforming our educational system? History dictates that those in charge of the State Legislature are unwilling to take on the educational establishment in order to bring about meaningful change.
Tune in as Craig, a former classroom teacher and current school board member shares his thoughts on how we can make work for all students.

Week 2- Balancing the Budget: Can it be done?
This week the Governor is preparing to release his May revisions to the 2010-11 budget. And it is likely to be ugly. For years, the California Legislature and the Governor have put off making tough choices when it comes to balancing the state budget. Utilizing a combination of debt and accounting gimmicks they managed to dig the state into a budget hole that seems impossible to overcome.
